Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the ClipChap macOS application, related websites (including clipchap.vercel.app), cloud services, and any features made available by OKTRA (“we”, “us”, “our”). By downloading, installing, or using ClipChap, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

1. The service

ClipChap is a desktop application that helps you create and edit short-form video content from media files on your device, assemble exports, and — where available — schedule posts to connected social platforms through integrated third-party services.

Features may change over time. Some capabilities require an account, internet access, a subscription, or connected third-party accounts.

2. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction) to use ClipChap. When you create an account, you agree to provide accurate information and to keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity under your account.

3. Your content and responsibilities

You retain ownership of the video files and other content you import or create with ClipChap. You represent that:

  • You have all necessary rights, licenses, and permissions to use, edit, and publish your content;
  • Your content does not infringe intellectual property, privacy, or other rights of third parties;
  • Your use of ClipChap complies with applicable laws and the terms of any platform where you publish.

We do not claim ownership of your source media. By using cloud or planner features, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and transmit your content solely to provide the service.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use ClipChap for unlawful, harmful, or abusive purposes;
  • Upload malware or attempt to disrupt or reverse engineer the service;
  • Circumvent access controls, usage limits, or subscription requirements;
  • Use the service to distribute content you do not have the right to share.

We may suspend or terminate access if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms.

5. Subscriptions and payments

Paid features, where offered, are billed through Apple In-App Purchase unless stated otherwise. Pricing, renewal periods, and refunds are subject to Apple’s policies. Subscription management is available in System Settings › Apple ID › Subscriptions on your Mac.

We use RevenueCat and related services to manage entitlements. Your purchase is tied to your Apple ID and/or ClipChap account as configured in the app.

6. Third-party services

ClipChap integrates with third-party providers (including cloud hosting, authentication, analytics, subscription management, and social publishing partners). Your use of those services may be subject to their separate terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party services outside our reasonable control.

7. Intellectual property

ClipChap, its branding, software, and documentation are owned by OKTRA or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks or underlying software except the limited license to use the app as intended.

8. Disclaimers

ClipChap is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, or secure operation.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, OKTRA and its affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of ClipChap. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service shall not exceed the amount you paid us for ClipChap in the twelve (12) months before the claim, or fifty euros (€50) if you have not made any payment, whichever is greater.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those cases, our liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted by law.

10. Termination

You may stop using ClipChap at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms or if we discontinue the service. Provisions that by nature should survive termination (including content responsibilities, disclaimers, and limitations of liability) will survive.

11. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the revised version on this page and update the “Last updated” date. Continued use after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in the jurisdiction where OKTRA is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where mandatory consumer protection laws in your country of residence provide otherwise.
